What are the most beautiful places in Figari, the jewel of southern Corsica?

Located in the south of the Isle of Beauty, Figari's territory extends over some 100 km2, from the Cagna mountains to the Mediterranean Sea. Boasting an exceptional natural heritage, dotted with hamlets that seem to have been frozen in time, Figari is definitely a place that travelers in search of authenticity will not soon forget.

Here are the must-see places to visit during a stay in Corsica.

The beauty and richness of the village of Figari

The village of Figari is an authentic site full of charm, as well as being ideally located for exploring the surrounding area, with its vineyards, mountains, scrubland and protected coastline.

In the village, you'll find a beautiful church and small stores selling high-quality local produce. Surrounded by magnificent mountains, the town's highest point rises to over 1300 meters. From here, a superb panoramic view will give you a good idea of the richness of the region.

Among the most beautiful places to discover in the Figari region are the vast white sandy beaches, protected coastlines and crystal-clear seas. The region's most beautiful beaches, Palombaggia and Santa Giulia, are close by, while other wilder beaches, such as San Giovanni, will delight lovers of unspoilt nature.

But the region's most emblematic beach is Pianottoli-Caldarello, just an 8-minute drive from the commune. Here, troglodytic houses provide a magnificent architectural backdrop to the no less sublime beach, where a stroll with your feet in the water at sunset is recommended. Romanticism guaranteed!

Figari vineyards

The Corsican vineyards of Figari are among the most beautiful jewels of the region. In addition to their beauty, these exceptional vineyards produce refined wines from grape varieties such as niellucciu, vermentinu, sciaccarello, syrah and grenache. Figari's vineyards are also among the oldest terroirs on the Isle of Beauty.

The region's estates and wineries are well worth a visit. Among the finest are Clos de Sarcone, Clos Canarelli, Domaine de Petra Bianca and Domaine de Tanella. Whether you prefer red or white wine (in moderation), you'll be spoilt for choice!

Figari and the Bruzzi trails

In Figari, nature is king. And the region's vast and diverse landscapes can be explored on magnificent hikes. The Uomo di Cagna, an enchanting boulder set in a lunar landscape, is a destination well worth a visit.

To get there, you have to follow the Bruzzi paths, which open onto a thick, fragrant maquis dotted with tafoni, granite rocks shaped by wind erosion.

La Piscia di Gallu

There's no shortage of hiking trails in the Figari region. Exploring the impressive Piscia di Gallu waterfall, a huge (70 m), soothing waterfall whose water flows along the rocks, is also a great way to enjoy a walk in the heart of a calm, untamed natural environment.

Situated 15 kilometers from Porto-Vecchio and 20 kilometers from Bonifacio, two other emblematic Corsican towns, Figari is also an ideal place to set off on an adventure and discover the whole of Corse-du-Sud. A must-see spot for all levels.
